Pilates

Pilates is based on the original exercises of Joseph Pilates who incorporated his deep understanding of gymnastics, martial arts,  self-defense and body building into a new form of exercise he called 'Contrology', which is now called Pilates after him.

Pilates targets the deep postural muscles building strength from the inside out, rebalancing the body, and bringing it into correct alignment. It helps reshape the body making it leaner and more toned and stretched. Pilates also improves the posture, achieving the perfect balance between strength and flexibility, and is a great way to relieve unwanted stress and tension.

Matwork Pilates does not need a designated space and can be practised anywhere and at any time. Depending on your fitness level exercises can be tailored to fit your needs, allowing for a gentle release routine all the way to a more dynamic and athletic workout.

Many women past their menopause have low bone density (Osteopenia or Osteoporosis), which is why I will be teaching medically approved exercises to help improve bone density in my bone health course. I will also be teaching many other exercises to help build overall strength, improve balance and loosen tension which means this class is suitable for anyone who wishes to do Pilates even if they don't have Osteopenia or Osteoporosis.

New classes to be confirmed - please join my mailing list for updates
